Hi there! You made it.
What can I say? It's finally here! My very first CD & website.
I'm SO tired of typing and pushing my luck with how much people will
read, so here's the bottom line.
I won a citywide cabaret competition a few years back which motivated
me to develop a show that spent 3 years in the back of my mind. I was
fortunate enough to do the show at the "The Plush Room," a
critically acclaimed cabaret venue here in SF. I missed the songs and
decided to make a recording. You are now here, hopefully on your way
to owning said recording, entitled Intimacy.
This entire process has me excited, embarrassed, enthusiastic and
scared shitless, ok?
The show was almost 90 minutes of singing with more than a few jokes
along the way . I didn't want to talk too much because I found songs
that said everything I wanted to say . The CD contains excerpts of
that show, whose theme was "relationships." What's great
and what's not so great about them. The show is autobiographical at
times, humorous, bittersweet, romantic and hopefully, you'll experience
that and perhaps more with the CD.
I must first get this out of the way. When I wrote the first draft
of the CD booklet, I wasn't consistant with who was mentioned when
and where. I remembered then forgot two of the most important people
in this project and hence, their names are missing from the CD booklet
and I caught it too late to fix it. So my humblest apologies to Brian & Brandon
and if you would be so kind as to keep the sticker that lovingly adorns
your CD and place it within the CD booklet, I would appreciate it greatly.
Even if it annoyingly falls out once or twice, please remember to blame
ME and not Brian or Brandon. The full credits are:
Recorded July/August 2002 at The Plush Room
- Brian Morse, Technical Director
(from day one, one of the "good
guys")
- Brandon Battaglia, Recording Engineer
(and all around
stellar guy)
My apologies to you both and Extra Special Thanks to you!
One other very important thing. The CD, songs and performance is indeed
copyrighted © LaMont C. Ridgell 2003
All of the proper paperwork was indeed filed and the wonderful people
at Oasis CD Manufacturing would've never duplicated "Intimacy" without
it. So, if you're counting, that's TWO important things left out. sigh!
I feel much better now that you're ALL here. Thank you. I'd love
to read your thoughts about Intimacy either here or better
yet, on Amazon.com or CD Baby. Let the world know your feelings!!
Finally....
Listening suggestions? This is not music to vacuum by. So, whether
alone or with a loved one, dim the lights, set out a candle or two,
beverage of choice, comfy chair and enjoy. Snuggle if you can. It'll
be Steve at the piano, me, you....and Intimacy.
As always, God bless and be good to yourself.
